Advertising your Position
Vacant positions should be posted in Workday and shared with the College’s DEI partner to assist with recruitment efforts.
The Hiring Manager must also complete either the sample Position Description form below or the Student Appointment Position Description & Advertising Request form.
Note: Students typically have their internships nailed down between one to two semesters in advance. Keep this in mind for the budgeting process leading up to the posting.
Ideal Hiring Schedule
- Autumn Internships: Post job & conduct interviews in January/February
- Spring Internships: Post job & conduct interviews in August/September
- Summer Internships: Post job & conduct interviews in September/October
Funding Resources
Funding should come from each department's budget. When planning your budget, please keep in mind the ideal hiring schedule.
Expenses to Consider:
- Salary ranges (typically between $15/hr - $20/hr)
- Equipment cost
- Software access
Each hiring manager should work with HR and their fiscal team to determine the appropriate funding sources.
