Matt McNair
As head of the Corporate Engagement Office, Matt is responsible for strategic partnerships, technology commercialization and economic development. He facilitates strategic, mutually beneficial relationships between the university and outside businesses and organizations.
Prior to his current role, Matt was the Chief Advancement Officer in Ohio State’s College of Engineering.
Before becoming a Buckeye in 2012, Matt served in several roles at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including as vice president of the University of Nebraska Foundation and as a director of development. Matt also was chief deputy attorney general for the State of Nebraska; a corporate and securities lawyer in the Omaha law office of Cline Williams; a general partner at ITC Ventures, a venture capital advisory firm in Santiago, Chile; and a special assistant United States attorney in San Diego. Matt also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
Matt is on the board of directors of the Nebraska Bank of Commerce. Previously, he has served on the board of directors of Invest Nebraska, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Association and the Lincoln Electric System.
Matt holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Kansas and a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
Matt and his wife, Chrissy, have three sons: Jackson, Luke and Marcus.
