Von Cason
Von serves as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the university. Von’s primary role is managing the day to day activities, meetings, calendar and travel for the SVP/CFO. Von’s support of the unit includes responding to inquiries, communicating to both internal and external leadership, coordinating large departmental functions and making independent decisions for the betterment of the department.
Prior to this, Von has a long history of working with the university in a variety of roles, in which she has gained progressive levels of knowledge and experience. She has served as Business Manager, overseeing both fiscal and human resources functions, and as Special Assistant to the University Treasurer managing construction and renovation projects as well as staff training and coordinating sensitive and confidential matters related to the department.
Von has served as a member of the University Staff Advisory Committee and the Senate Diversity Committee both as a member and the Award Chair. She was a recipient of the Floyd G. Meadows Award for Distinguished Leadership given through the Office of Business and Finance. She was an initial member supporting the Young Scholar Mentoring Program at the university, adopting a local high school participant. She has represented the university as a volunteer associated with Pelotonia, Operation Feed, Bucks for Charity and Campus Campaign. She served as a mentor for two administrative support positions during the Mentor/Mentee Pilot Program for OSUAP (The Ohio State University Administrative Professional) group. She also served as a conference speaker at the Annual 2019 OSUAP Conference. Her community involvement over the years includes volunteering at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Faith Missions and the support of Cat Welfare.
Von is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a B.S.in Business Administration and is a licensed notary public. She is married to Bernard, and they have two children Isaac and Moriah.
