The "Check Your Blind Spots" Tour will be visiting Ohio State on Wednesday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ohio Union West Plaza. This event is being planned by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ to help expose the nuances of unconscious bias. Through this mobile tour experience, participants will become empowered with the knowledge and resources needed to strip themselves of preexisting biases and better understand the role they can play in advancing diversity and inclusion.

On January 1, 2019, the hourly minimum wage in Ohio will increase from $8.30 to $8.55 for all non-tipped workers and from $4.15 to $4.30 for all tipped workers. System-wide increases for current Ohio State employees will be centrally implemented effective December 23, 2018. The HR Compensation team asks that all hiring managers begin using the $8.55 hourly pay rate for new non-tipped employees starting November 11, 2018.
This week, President Drake announced the fifth year of the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game. A large number of faculty and staff have an opportunity to be randomly selected to each receive four complimentary tickets to the Ohio State vs. Tulane University football game on Saturday, September 22.

The University Staff Advisory Committee (USAC) is hosting a Conversation with Susan Basso, Senior Vice President for Talent, Culture and Human Resources, on Thursday, May 10, 2018. The event will take place at the US Bank Theater in the Ohio Union from 12-1 p.m. Light refreshments and cookies will be provided. During the event, participants will hear from Susan about the Human Resources’ Strategic Plan, staff engagement and general university themes. On Monday, May 7, 2018, the university will implement summer work hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some areas may have additional hours outside of this core, or may choose not to change their hours at all, in an effort to meet customer and student needs. Offices are responsible for communicating extended hours and any schedule changes to their employees and customers. Regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for those offices that do make a switch, will resume on Monday, August 13.
The University Staff Advisory Committee is hosting the inaugural Staff Benefits and Wellness Expo , formally known as the "Hidden Benefits Fair" on Tuesday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ohio Union. The expo will offer opportunities for mini-breakout sessions, biometric screenings, professional headshots, and the opportunity to interact with department representatives and local organizations. The expo is a partnership of USAC, the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer, Buckeye Wellness, OSU Health Plan and Your Plan for Health.
