When renting a vehicle for university business, the rental must include:
- Liability Insurance, and
- Damage Waiver, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
These insurance requirements are automatically included in the Vehicle Rental Agreement for Enterprise, National and Hertz when using Ohio State's Web Reservation link or through the contracted travel agency.
If the required insurance coverage is purchased through an alternative rental agency and outside of the vehicle rental agreement, the traveler must submit documentation that clearly demonstrates the required coverages were in effect for the rental period. This documentation must accompany the receipt submitted with the expense report.
