Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)

Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS, commonly known as drones) are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and by federal, state, and local laws. Anyone seeking to operate a UAS on any university property, at any university-sponsored event or activity, or use a UAS acquired with university resources must receive advance approval in accordance with the UAS Policy Revision. Operators must also comply with all applicable laws and conditions or restrictions set by the University.
