Certain parts sold through Parts Town are part of a 3rd party supplier marketplace. Parts bearing the messaging “Online Only” are only available by ordering directly through the Parts Town website - they are not held in inventory by Parts Town, they are shipped directly from the 3rd party, and they are not available in Parts Town’s punchout catalog. These parts can only be ordered using method 1 below.

Similar parts are part of the 3rd party supplier marketplace, NOT bearing the messaging of “Online Only,” and they show Marketplace parts pricing that is usually LOWER than Parts Town part pricing. Those parts are noted with the text “More Offers Available” or “X more purchase options for shipping.” Those parts can be ordered using method 1 below at the lower marketplace pricing, or using method 2 below usually at a higher price, bought and fulfilled directly from Parts Town.

If Parts Town receives a purchase order for one of these parts with lower pricing, they will send back a message stating that your order hasn’t been filled, quoting the parts at the higher method 2 price and leaving the choice in the buyer’s hands to pursue purchasing through one of the two below methods.

Customers will typically only encounter marketplace items if they reach out directly to Parts Town customer service looking for a specific part or by searching the website outside of the punchout. The standard process is to search for and order items in the punchout, however, we can still order products from the 3rd party marketplace using one of two methods:

1. Order directly from Parts Town website:
   1. Contact Parts Town customer service to get the login information for OSU’s account that has our tax exemption.
   2. Customers can check out using either PCard or by entering PO number (use non-catalog requisition process to create PO). If prompted, DO NOT save credit card or payment information on this account.
   3. All Marketplace item purchase terms and conditions are dictated by the 3rd party seller, and supersede normal Parts Town terms and conditions. Returns or credits would be dealt with at the discretion of the 3rd party seller.
2. Have Parts Town enter the order at Parts Town / non-marketplace pricing:
   1. Create a non-catalog requisition using the pricing and product info provided by Parts Town customer service.
   2. Revise the pricing on purchase order and resubmit to Parts Town customer service and request that they enter the order to source as a Parts Town-fulfilled order.
