Changes coming to eTimesheet (October 13)
Beginning Sunday, October 13, non-exempt eTimesheet users will no longer have the option to enter only the number of hours they worked. Personnel will need to record start time and end time, as well as time-in and time-out for lunch, if they take a lunch break. A brief overview is outlined below:
- Current state: In eTimesheet employees can: (1) record the number of hours worked with no addtional detail; (2) record start time and end time without recording a lunch break; and (3) record start time and end time and time in and time out for a lunch break (if a lunch break is taken).
- Future state: Beginning on October 13, everyone who uses eTimesheet to record time, including student employees, should record start time and end time, as well as time-in and time-out for lunch, if a lunch break is taken. From a system perspective, we CAN change the system to require users to enter start time and end time, but we CANNOT change the system to require users to record a lunch break. Requiring users to record a lunch break ensures payroll accuracy, so please advise users that they are now required to enter time in and time out for lunch.
