View Miscellaneous Payments for an OSP grant by the Requester’s Cost Center

Problem –

If a college or unit runs the Find Miscellaneous Payment reports by their college or unit’s cost center, cash advances for human subjects on Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) grants will not display. This is because cash advances for human subjects for OSP grants must use OSP worktags. Therefore, using worktags to search for these payments will not return items associated with that specific college or unit.

Solution –

Use your college’s cost center or cost center hierarchy in the requester’s cost center or requester’s cost center hierarchy prompts in the Find Miscellaneous Payment reports.  The requester’s cost center/cost center hierarchy is the cost center/cost center hierarchy of the requester as of the date the Miscellaneous Payment was submitted and will associate transactions with a cost center or cost center hierarchy on an additional dimension other than worktags.

To utilize this search perform the following:

1. Open Find Miscellaneous Payment Summary – OSU or Find Miscellaneous Payment Details – OSU.
2. Select the following prompts:
   1. Enter the unit/college cost center in the Requester’s Cost Center prompt or
   2. Enter the unit/college cost center hierarchy in the Requester’s Cost Center Hierarchies prompt
   3. You may use additional prompts to further filter your results as desired. Be cautions not to use your cost center or cost center hierarchy in worktags, otherwise you will filter out cash advances for human subjects that are associated with the OSP cost center worktag.

The results will allow users to see information for their colleges or units that must be recorded on OSP worktags as part of the cash advance for human subjects process.
